Information we use

• When you explicitly search, we store the normalised phone number, search time and an aggregate search count. Viewing a profile does not add a search.
• A visitor report contains the selected call category, optional call month and optional description. A flag contains its reason and any details supplied for the moderator.
• Research may record information already available in public sources, including business names, contact details and reports associated with a number. Published findings link to their sources.
• A one-day cookie and a hashed browser token help limit abusive or repeated submissions. The application does not store the raw IP address for this feature. Our hosting provider may process standard request logs such as IP address, browser details and request time.
• If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any other information you choose to provide.
• Vercel Web Analytics records anonymous, aggregated visits to public pages. Data points may include the page path, timestamp, referrer, coarse location, browser, operating system and device type. A number profile path contains the phone number being viewed. Query strings are removed, and administrator and review pages are excluded.

Why we use it

We use this information to operate the lookup service, decide which numbers merit research, publish useful source-backed information, moderate visitor reports, prevent abuse, understand which public pages are useful and respond to questions or rights requests.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: providing a useful and responsible number-information service, maintaining its integrity and protecting visitors and people connected with listed numbers. We reduce the privacy impact through limited collection, human review, source links, clear labels, report moderation and correction or removal routes. We may also process information where necessary to meet a legal obligation. We do not make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

What becomes public

Approved visitor reports may publish their category, call month and description on the relevant number profile. Reports are presented as unverified visitor accounts. Report flags and rejected reports are not public. Reviewed findings may summarise and link to information from public sources.

Service providers and transfers

We use Vercel for web hosting and privacy-focused web analytics, Neon for the application database, and email forwarding and mailbox providers to receive correspondence. They process information on our behalf under their own security and data-protection arrangements. Some processing may take place outside the UK; where it does, we rely on the safeguards provided for those transfers.

How long we keep information

We keep number profiles, aggregate search history and reviewed-source records while they remain useful for operating and auditing the service. We periodically review published material for relevance. Reports, flags and moderation decisions are kept while needed to show what was submitted, handle disputes, prevent repeat abuse and maintain the integrity of published profiles, then deleted or anonymised when those purposes no longer apply. Rate-limit data is short-lived and cleared during normal operation after its window expires. We retain correspondence only as long as needed to resolve the request and meet any legal or record-keeping need. Vercel discards its temporary analytics visitor session after 24 hours; aggregate reporting is kept within the reporting period available to our Vercel plan.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction of your personal information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email contact@yuring.me with the relevant page URL and enough information for us to understand the request. You can also privately flag a published visitor report from its number page.

If you are unhappy with how we use your information, contact us first so we can investigate. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies and analytics

We use only cookies needed for submission limits and administrator sessions. Vercel Web Analytics does not use analytics cookies or build a profile that follows a visitor across websites. We do not use advertising cookies.
